Levels of Care
In-house Medical Detox
Each individual has a unique substance abuse history and arrives for treatment at a different stage of addiction severity and varying treatment needs. For those who require medical detox, Recovery First provides a safe detox environment with 24/7 medical monitoring.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
At this level of care, the client attends highly structured treatment a minimum of 5 days per week for a minimum of 6-8 hours. This treatment consists of individual therapy, structured activities, and group sessions. Our PHP program allows the client to begin practicing new aftercare and recovery skills in real world situations. At this level of care, the client begins communicating with local addiction support groups, participating in sober recreation outings, and attending therapeutic experiential activities away from the treatment setting.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
In IOP treatment, the client receives less supervision than in our PHP program, but commits to a structured schedule of onsite therapy 3-7 days a week in blocks of treatment a minimum of 3 hours in duration. The focus of our IOP is for the client to practice coping and refusal skills, make progress on goals defined in his or her individualized treatment plan, and actively refine an aftercare plan for reintegrating into the community. The objective is preparation for the coming transition to improved health, wellness, and long-term recovery.

While in treatment, the client works to outline a plan for reintegrating into home life, work, and the community. Aftercare plans and sober skills can facilitate ongoing recovery and coping abilities following treatment. A part of aftercare planning is collaborating with our therapists on continued care recommendations for follow-up with psychiatrists, therapists, or physicians.
Recovery First clients leave treatment with a detailed aftercare plan listing contacts and resources needed to continue their recovery journey. Aftercare also includes treatment follow-up calls from Recovery First staff to clients, and inclusion in our AAC Alumni program. To assist in long-term recovery following treatment, we encourage the client to continue to practice the behaviors and recovery skills developed in our therapy and groups. To help in aftercare, we recommend involvement with Recovery First peers, involvement with the AAC Alumni network, and participation in recovery groups such as 12-Step meetings.
