Many individuals who struggle with substance abuse also struggle with mental health disorders. Recovery First treats both the addiction and any co-occurring mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and bipolar disorder.
The value of this additional type of treatment becomes even more apparent as the client enters aftercare. Our clinical team’s training in dual diagnosis means we can actively work with clients to help them develop coping skills for mental health symptoms that could potentially lead to relapse down the road.
With focus on both your substance abuse and mental health issues, Embracing Change: Recovery for Life is the interactive curriculum we developed around best practices in current addiction therapy as well as clinical research on the latest effective treatments for co-occurring disorders.
The curriculum engages the client with unique interactive exercises and opportunities for self-examination. We also provide educational recovery information, aftercare coping strategies, and skills to manage co-occurring mental health disorders.
Following graduation from our treatment program, we encourage clients to keep their completed workbooks. Our hope is that they will occasionally review the workbooks for personal reflection as part of their long-term recovery.
Recovery First encourages family involvement in our monthly sessions specifically designed for discussion of the family’s role in long-term recovery. With client consent, we invite all family members, spouses, partners, children, and loved ones to participate in family weekends either onsite or via conference calls. These family sessions help set discharge expectations, support, reinforce, and strengthen post-treatment recovery efforts by involving all of those who play a part in the client’s long-term recovery and relapse prevention.
Length of Stay
Why 90 days is Recommended
Longer lengths of treatment stay are conducive to positive addiction recovery outcomes. For continued long-term sobriety, 90-day programs are the minimum recommended length of treatment.
Length of program stay will be determined by each client’s individual set of circumstances such as treatment progress, needs of co-occurring mental health conditions, level of care requirements, and insurance plan coverage.
Our 90-day Brand Promise
If you successfully complete our 90-day treatment program, we guarantee you’ll stay clean and sober, or you can return for a complimentary 30 days of treatment.
Up to 30 Free Days of Treatment
In the event of a relapse at any time post-treatment, American Addiction Centers, Inc. (AAC) will provide qualified individuals with up to an additional 30 consecutive days of treatment at one of its facilities at no additional cost to you.
