It’s a place that cares

When I arrived at the place, I felt like I was going to be okay… This place is dual-diagnosis so its not only drugs or alcohol but also depression or something else. I wanted to be treated… I feel really good now.

I understand why I have a problem

Any problem that I’ve ever had, drinking was involved… They give you the tools or help the build foundation to be successful when you leave.

This place saved my life

I was sick & tired of hurting my family. I was in denial big time… Finally I’m going uphill … Its the best decision of my life.

Physically & mentally, I feel stronger.

I got tired of seeing everyone smiling and being happy… asking myself “what are they so happy about?”. I want to feel that… It has changed my life. In some ways, it's saved me from me.

I don’t want to be the person I was

I have got to fix me so I don’t drink and go back to old behavior. That is what I learned here. How to fix my behavior, how to deal with life… I’m confident about going home.

I can't say enough great things about this place. I had hit rock bottom when I came here and today I have 13 months clean and sober.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are you doing about Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

We remain vigilant about patient and staff safety, privacy and well-being. We've established steps to ensure that Recovery First has protective protocols in place, our admissions process includes a screening for symptoms of Coronavirus and we continue to monitor the situation. For more information please take a look at our detailed Coronavirus notice page.

Is smoking allowed?

Yes, Recovery First and all of American Addiction Centers' facilities provide access to designated smoking areas. You will not be able to buy cigarettes on site, so if you plan on smoking while here you will need to bring your own cigarettes in an unopened pack or carton. If you'd like, your family and friends can also mail you factory-sealed cartons or packs of cigarettes but they must be factory sealed packs or cartons. Staff members at the facilities can answer any of your smoking-related questions.

Do you accept pregnant women?

In general, we do accept pregnant women for treatment at Recovery First. However, they have to be medically stable, and the decision is made by our medical staff.

Will someone pick me up from home, the airport or bus station?

Both our inpatient and some of our outpatient programs have transportation services available to you. Just let us know when your plane lands or when your bus arrives, and we'll be there.

Do you offer translator services or programs in languages other than English?

Yes, Recovery First can offer translation services when needed. Please note that while it is our goal to work with any person who is seeking help for addiction, some of our facilities are more likely to have translation availability than others. It’s important that you inform us of your translation needs as soon as possible.

What is the cost? How do I pay for it? Will they accept my insurance?

The cost of treatment varies. At Recovery First, you can most likely pay for treatment with your private insurance plan, and you can pay out of pocket if that’s an option for you. If it’s not, we can create a payment plan for you to ease the cost of treatment up front. If you’d like more information, you can learn about paying for treatment here. We do not accept Medicaid or Medicare.

What happens if there is an emergency?

Rest assured: Recovery First is committed to the safety of all of our patients and staff members. This means that in the case of a natural disaster, we have a plan: Recovery First will relocate or release patients who are impacted by the event. We’ll even stop admission to our facility if necessary. If you have a medical emergency, we’ll follow the directions you gave us when we were checking you in for treatment. We’ll also reach out to your primary contact if you provided one. If you need to reach the facility directly, give us a call at 954-981-9228.

Can couples attend together?

You and your partner are welcome to attend treatment at the same time at Recovery First. You will not be able to share a room due to how the facility rooms guests in male or female rooms.

Is treatment voluntary and can I leave anytime I want?

Although we urge you to stay until the end of your treatment program, our facility is 100% voluntary and will never force you to stay. If you do choose to leave early or against medical advice, you may benefit from the counseling services we provide. If you or a loved one is currently in an emergency, contact the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-8255 or the National Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration at 1-800-662-4357.
